Why is this "directory thing" so important?

We all know what a church directory is, but what we may not know is WHY it matters.
What is the big deal after all? Hopefully we'll answer all of your questions here.

1. We believe our directory matters because YOU matter!

You are SO important to us, and that's why we want to have a beautiful picture of your smiling face in our directory! And not just for us, but for our entire church community. We want everyone who attends Church in the Palms to know that YOU are a vital part of who we are and have the opportunity to connect with you.

2. So how does this directory work?

Your household will schedule a photography slot on either Monday, October 8th, OR Monday, October 29th by seeing Katie (me!) at the table in the back of the auditorium on Sunday.

On photo days you should arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to sign-in and fill out a Directory Roster card. This will ensure that all of our records are accurate when the directory is printed. You will then go get your pictures taken by a professional photographer (they don't bite, I promise!), view and select your photo for the directory (this is the complimentary 8x10 photo you will receive in the mail). You then have the option to purchase any other photos of your choosing, but this is not mandatory.

3. Who is LifeTouch?

LifeTouch is a professional photography company based out of Minnesota that serves the entire United States. They see photography as a ministry, and for this reason offer their directory services at no cost to the church and families participating. We are receiving a HUGE blessing from everyone at LifeTouch, and we are excited to be partnering with them!

4. What if I don't like getting my picture taken?

In reality, MOST people do not like having their pictures taken. So you are in the same boat as most of our congregation! But this is the part where we ask you to think about our church community as a whole: your individual picture will add to the bigger picture of helping us grow closer as a family of believers. Getting your photo taken is actually a part of living the love! Also, the photographers you will be working with are professionally trained to make picture-days relaxed and enjoyable, so you're in good hands.

5. How do we get the directory?

Everyone who participates in photography day will receive a printed 5.5"x8.5" directory booklet and secure, password-protected access to an online copy of the directory. It will take approximately 2-3 months after photography is completed for the printed directories to arrive at the church for you to pickup.

6. Believe it or not, this directory will become a keepsake that you cherish!

Just as every individual and every family goes through seasons of life, so will our church. We will have new members join our church family who need this directory to help them get to know us. We will also have long-standing, cherished members be called to serve in other cities, states, and even other countries down the road. Our directory will help us keep in touch with them for years to come!
