hurricane ian relief

Our partners at Church United are mobilizing South Florida churches to respond to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian. South Florida is our home. We live, work, raise our families, and worship here. Its pain is our pain. Many of our friends and neighbors are experiencing loss and uncertainty, resulting in many opportunities to provide tangible hope, help and support. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be the first responders of God’s Kingdom in times of crisis; we invite you to join us by offering financial support, volunteering for a crisis relief team or donating much-needed disaster relief items.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

The Church United Disaster Relief and Crisis Fund is activated during severe storms and community crisis and serves as a fund dedicated to providing hope, help, and healing. Unlike GoFundMe, The Red Cross, and similar donation platforms, the Disaster Relief and Crisis Fund ensures that 100% of your gift goes directly to relief efforts and in service of those in desperate need without any overhead or administrative fees. Their commitment is to keep us informed as they coordinate with local churches and best-in-class ministry partners on the ground in areas posted to be impacted by Hurricane Ian.

VOLUNTEER RELIEF TEAMS:
Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale has offered to serve as a central hub and initial logistical coordinator for relief team volunteers. Relief teams are being organized to help those who are in need after the storm clears. As our on-the-ground partners, Samaritan's Purse and Convoy of Hope, complete their damage assessments and establish support hubs, we will need teams of able-bodied volunteers to help with manual labor and disaster recovery efforts. If you’re interested in serving as a volunteer, trips will leave from Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale and will be deployed “first come first served” in the order of sign ups once they get the all clear from their partners.
