On Wednesday, February 14th, at 6:30pm, our church family will gather together to begin a season of spiritual renewal we are calling "Death to Selfie." From Feb. 14th until Easter (Apr. 1), we will be asking God to renew us as we die to our self and experience life in Christ.
During the Ash Wednesday service, we will start this season of renewal by giving you some quiet time with God to repent of your sins.
Yet even now, says the LORD,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
rend your hearts and not your clothing.
Return to the LORD, your God,
for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger,
and abounding in steadfast love, and relents from punishing.
Then, we will give you an opportunity to make a very specific, realistic, and yet challenging commitment to spend quality time with God during these seven weeks.
There's a lot at stake here. The next seven weeks can be the same as the last seven weeks. Or, each of us can drink from the streams of living water Jesus is offering. And what a blessing to have a church family to encourage us along the way!
“Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.”
-Jesus, in John 4:13-14
